As a Driver with our logistics client, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of various goods across designated routes within Lagos and potentially surrounding states. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks) to transport goods to various locations as per delivery schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring proper securing to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of shipment contents against delivery manifests.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Assist with route planning and optimization to ensure efficient delivery timelines.
- Ensure cleanliness and general maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Represent the company professionally at all times during interactions with clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Class E Driver's License (or equivalent heavy vehicle license).
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional driving experience, preferably in logistics or commercial delivery.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns.
- Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS directions effectively.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items when required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
