Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and move materials within the factory using various equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, trolleys).
- Assist in the setup and operation of production machinery as directed by supervisors.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
- Package and label finished products accurately for storage or shipment.
- Inspect products for quality defects and report any issues to the production supervisor.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Support skilled operators and technicians with routine tasks.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with inventory management, including counting and stacking materials.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) regularly.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of factory safety procedures and willingness to learn.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Attention to detail, especially when handling products and materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
- Forklift operator certification (advantageous but not required).
- Knowledge of 5S methodologies or lean manufacturing principles.
- High school diploma or equivalent (NQF Level 2).
