Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy commercial vehicles (trucks) for regional and long-haul deliveries.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects.
- Secure loads properly using appropriate restraint techniques to prevent shifting or damage.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and driving regulations (e.g., hours of service, tachograph rules).
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to various destinations.
- Complete and maintain accurate logbooks, delivery manifests, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Represent DSV professionally at all times while on the road and at customer sites.
- Assist with loading and unloading as required, ensuring goods are handled with care.
Required Skills
- Valid EU driving license (Category C and CE).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional truck driving experience.
- Excellent driving record with no major violations.
- Valid Code 95 qualification (Driver CPC) and digital tachograph card.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading and vehicle inspection.
- Good communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- ADR certificate for the transport of dangerous goods.
- Experience with various types of trailers (e.g., curtain-siders, box trailers, refrigerated units).
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Familiarity with navigation systems and route optimization software.
