Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client assessments to evaluate mental health needs and develop individualized treatment goals.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with clients and supervisory staff.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records and progress notes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic client care and support.
- Participate actively in clinical supervision, case consultations, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements for mental health practice.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of best practices and advancements in the field.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, under supervision.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field (or actively pursuing, with graduation imminent).
- Strong foundational knowledge of counseling theories and techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional empathy, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and willingness to learn telehealth platforms.
- Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Provisional licensure (LPC-A, LCSW-A) or eligibility for provisional licensure in North Carolina.
- Prior experience in a practicum, internship, or volunteer role within a mental health setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a significant plus.
