Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV Class 1 or 2) in accordance with UK road regulations.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness, reporting any defects promptly.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods to various destinations, adhering to schedules.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes and vehicle logs.
- Load and unload goods as required, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other team members.
- Comply with tachograph regulations and working time directives.
Required Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) license with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) / CPC.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Proven experience as a truck driver, demonstrating safe driving practices.
- Excellent knowledge of UK road transport regulations and driving laws.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures related to transport and logistics.
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with diverse cargo types (e.g., refrigerated, hazardous goods).
