You will be immersed in the daily operations of an NGO, learning how to identify potential donors, craft compelling proposals, manage donor relations, and assist in organizing fundraising events that bring communities together for a common good. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in researching potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors, both locally and nationally, to expand the donor base.
  • Support the drafting and editing of compelling grant proposals, concept notes, and fundraising appeals tailored to various donor segments.
  • Help organize and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and outreach activities, including logistics, promotion, and volunteer coordination.
  • Maintain and update donor databases (CRM systems) with accurate contact information, donation histories, and communication records.
  • Prepare thank-you letters, reports, and other communications to acknowledge donors and keep them informed of the impact of their contributions.
  • Contribute to the creation of engaging content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to promote fundraising initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to deepen understanding of non-profit operations, fundraising strategies, and ethical practices.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated passion for social causes and community development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (e.g., Social Sciences, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations).

  • Familiarity with the local socio-economic context of Onitsha and Anambra State.
  • Basic understanding of fundraising principles or marketing.
