Key Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial van safely and efficiently on assigned routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring vehicle is in good working order and reporting any issues promptly.
- Load and unload packages and materials, ensuring proper handling, securing of goods, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Deliver goods to various destinations on schedule, following optimal routes and utilizing navigation tools effectively.
- Verify delivery accuracy, obtain necessary signatures, and complete delivery logs and paperwork meticulously.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, clients, and internal teams regarding delivery status, potential delays, or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance for the delivery vehicle and yourself.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company with professionalism and courtesy.
Required Skills
- Valid Michigan Class D Driver's License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 18 months of professional driving experience.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and safely.
- Strong navigation skills and proficiency with GPS devices and mapping applications.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and route planning abilities.
- Proven commitment to road safety and adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with dispatch and customers.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for timely deliveries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, courier, or similar logistics role.
