Career.supersecrets is actively seeking a highly reliable and experienced Driver to join our dynamic logistics and delivery team in Abuja. This critical role involves operating a company-provided vehicle to transport goods, documents, and personnel safely and efficiently across various locations within Abuja and occasionally to surrounding areas. As a Driver, you will be the backbone of our operational flow, ensuring timely deliveries and contributing significantly to client satisfaction. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of your assigned vehicle, performing routine checks, and reporting any maintenance needs promptly. This role demands a strong commitment to road safety, adherence to all traffic laws, and impeccable driving habits.
Beyond just driving, this position requires excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail in handling parcels, and a courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues. You will be expected to meticulously track deliveries, obtain necessary signatures, and handle delivery-related documentation accurately. Problem-solving skills will be essential for navigating unforeseen road conditions or delivery challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods, documents, and personnel as per assigned routes and schedules.
- Perform routine pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections (fuel, oil, tires, brakes, lights, etc.) to ensure vehicle roadworthiness.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good working condition of the company vehicle, reporting any faults or issues immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, and company driving policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of items, obtaining necessary signatures and completing all delivery documentation.
- Assist with loading and unloading items as required, ensuring goods are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, clients, and colleagues regarding delivery status or any delays.
- Handle cash or payment transactions as necessary, ensuring accurate reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Maintain detailed records of journeys, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs.
- Represent Career.supersecrets professionally and courteously in all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or G preferred)
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations.
- Strong understanding of road safety rules and defensive driving techniques.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle checks and minor troubleshooting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/GCE.
- Possession of a First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization tools.
- Previous experience working for a recruitment or logistics company.
