Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory experiments and tests under supervision, strictly adhering to established protocols.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and media with precision and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and organized records of experiments, results, and procedures in laboratory notebooks and digital systems.
- Operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of experimental apparatus, ensuring readiness for subsequent tasks.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
- Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and inventory, initiating procurement orders as needed to prevent stock shortages.
- Handle and dispose of chemical and biological waste in accordance with stringent safety and environmental regulations.
- Contribute to the preliminary analysis and interpretation of experimental data.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate findings clearly and concisely to supervisors and peers.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a closely related scientific field.
- Foundational understanding of basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, sterile technique, solution preparation) and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in operating standard laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, pH meters, spectrophotometers, microscopes).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision in data recording and experimental execution.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Ability to follow complex instructions and scientific protocols precisely and consistently.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and report generation.
