Are you an accomplished leader with a passion for transforming public services? Deloitte is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Manager to join our dynamic Public Sector Advisory practice in London. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex engagements, advising government and public sector clients across Great Britain on critical strategic, operational, and digital transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex public sector transformation projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery of client outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with senior public sector clients and key stakeholders.
- Drive business development activities, including identifying new opportunities, preparing compelling proposals, and contributing to sales pursuits.
- Manage and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of Deloitte’s Public Sector practice and develop thought leadership.
- Oversee project finances, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
- Analyse complex data and policy documents to provide insightful recommendations to clients.
- Act as a subject matter expert in relevant public sector domains and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
- Proven track record of delivering successful, large-scale transformation projects within the UK public sector.
- Extensive experience in a management consulting environment or an in-house strategy/transformation role within the public sector.
- Deep understanding of UK government structures, policy cycles, funding mechanisms, and key challenges.
- Exceptional client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Demonstrated business development acumen, including proposal writing and client pursuit experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Prince2, MSP, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma.
- Specialised expertise in a particular public sector domain (e.g., Health, Defence, Justice, Local Government, Central Government Operations).
- Experience with digital transformation strategies and emerging technologies in the public sector context.
