Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual mental health counseling services to clients via secure telehealth platforms.
- Conduct thorough initial assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and develop appropriate treatment goals.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Actively participate in regular clinical supervision and team meetings for case consultation and professional growth.
- Educate clients on effective coping strategies, self-care techniques, and available community resources.
- Adhere to all professional ethical guidelines and state licensure requirements for mental health practice in Nebraska.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals or community organizations as needed to support client well-being.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field (or nearing completion of degree).
- Eligibility for provisional licensure as a mental health professional (e.g., PLMHP, LIMHP, LMHC, LCSW-P) in the state of Nebraska.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport effectively.
- Demonstrated empathy, active listening, and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in using technology for remote work, including secure video conferencing and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Basic understanding of various therapeutic modalities and intervention techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or practicum experience in a clinical or remote counseling setting.
- Familiarity with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or other evidence-based practices.
- Experience working with diverse client populations and cultural backgrounds.
