Job Description

As a Financial Analyst in Westpac’s Group Finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring the financial health of one of Australia’s largest financial institutions. This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and detail-oriented professional to contribute to our robust financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions. You will be instrumental in developing comprehensive financial models, conducting in-depth variance analysis, and preparing insightful reports that inform our senior leadership team. Your work will directly influence our budgetary processes, forecasting accuracy, and strategic initiatives across various business units. This role offers exposure to a wide range of financial operations, providing a solid foundation for career growth within the banking sector. We are looking for someone who is not only proficient with numbers but also possesses strong communication skills to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders across the organisation. If you are passionate about finance, eager to learn, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this role offers significant potential for impact and development within a leading financial services group. You will be expected to critically assess financial performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations that align with our strategic objectives, ultimately contributing to the bank’s long-term success and profitability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, sales, and operations, to understand the drivers of financial performance and to provide accurate, data-driven advice. This position offers a unique vantage point into the intricate workings of a major bank, allowing you to develop a deep understanding of financial markets, regulatory environments, and corporate strategy. We foster an environment of continuous learning and professional growth, encouraging our analysts to take ownership of their projects and to constantly seek innovative solutions to financial challenges. This role is ideal for a proactive individual looking to make a significant contribution to a reputable and forward-thinking financial institution.
