Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus clearly, offering recommendations and answering questions regarding food and beverage items.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing POS systems efficiently and ensuring all special requests are communicated to the kitchen.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to established service standards and proper etiquette for both room service and restaurant dining.
- Clear tables, reset dining areas, and maintain cleanliness and organization of all service stations throughout shifts.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and resolve issues to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
- Process payments accurately, handle cash and card transactions, and manage end-of-shift reconciliation.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bar staff, and other team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas for events and special functions when required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Waitstaff or in a similar customer service role, preferably within a hotel or restaurant setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, including table settings and service etiquette.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Familiarity with local Nigerian cuisine and international dishes.
- A diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management or Food Service.
