Key Responsibilities
- Assist heavy haulage drivers in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and cargo.
- Help with the safe loading, unloading, and securing of oversized and heavy cargo using appropriate lashing, chains, and binders.
- Ensure all cargo is properly measured, documented, and compliant with road regulations before departure.
- Support drivers with navigation and route assessment, especially in challenging terrains or congested areas.
- Monitor cargo stability and security during transit, reporting any issues promptly.
- Participate in basic vehicle maintenance checks, including tire pressure, fluid levels, and overall cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Assist in the preparation of necessary documentation such as waybills, manifests, and permits.
- Perform general labour tasks as required to facilitate haulage operations.
