Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Production Geologist to join our dynamic team in Clamart, France. As a Production Geologist at SLB, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing and new reservoirs. You will be responsible for integrating geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and engineering data to build robust subsurface models, identify production enhancement opportunities, and support drilling and well intervention campaigns. Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and reservoir engineering data to develop comprehensive subsurface static and dynamic models.
- Characterize reservoirs, identify potential drilling targets, and optimize well placement to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.
- Provide geological support during drilling operations, including real-time well log interpretation, core analysis, and geological steering.
- Conduct detailed volumetric calculations and uncertainty assessments for reservoir reserves and resources.
- Participate in well intervention planning, well workover design, and production optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and operations teams to deliver integrated subsurface solutions.
- Generate geological maps, cross-sections, and reports to document findings and recommendations.
- Stay abreast of new geological concepts, technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve workflows.
- Adhere strictly to company safety, health, and environmental policies and regulations in all operational aspects.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Geology, Geosciences, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Production Geologist within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of reservoir characterization workflows and techniques.
- Proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Geolog, Techlog).
- Solid knowledge of sedimentary environments, sequence stratigraphy, and structural geology.
- Extensive experience with well log correlation and interpretation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, for effective global communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant geological discipline.
- Experience with unconventional resources exploration and development.
- Familiarity with reservoir simulation and modeling concepts.
- Knowledge of French is a significant advantage for local integration and communication.
- Demonstrated project management experience in geological studies.
