Key Responsibilities
- Assist heavy-duty truck drivers with loading, unloading, and securing cargo safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking tires, lights, fluid levels, and other critical components, and report any discrepancies.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic organization of the truck cabin and cargo area.
- Help navigate routes, understand delivery schedules, and assist with documentation like waybills and delivery receipts.
- Support the driver in adherence to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire changes, oil checks, and minor repairs under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel to ensure seamless operations.
- Handle and operate equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts if certified and required.
- Provide physical assistance with manual labor as needed during loading/unloading processes.
- Be prepared for extended hours and varied work schedules, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends, as dictated by operational needs.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a labor-intensive role, preferably in logistics, warehousing, or transportation.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous tasks.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
