Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company-provided cargo van for local and regional deliveries within Albuquerque, NM, and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo efficiently and carefully, ensuring items are protected from damage.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools and traffic updates.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Manage delivery schedules, ensuring punctuality and responsiveness to route adjustments.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and management regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Assist with warehouse tasks as needed, including inventory verification and organization.
Required Skills
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License (Class D or higher)
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years
- Proven experience operating cargo vans or similar commercial vehicles
- Strong geographical knowledge of Albuquerque and surrounding areas
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs consistently
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible work ethic
- Basic proficiency with navigation software (e.g., GPS, mapping applications)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
