Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company van safely and efficiently for deliveries and pickups across assigned routes.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company safety policies.
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify the accuracy of cargo against delivery manifests before departure and upon arrival at destinations.
- Plan and optimize daily routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries, adapting to unforeseen circumstances.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle maintenance records, and other necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Handle client interactions with professionalism and courtesy, representing the company positively.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, delays, or customer feedback to management immediately.
- Follow strict safety protocols and company policies at all times to ensure personal and public safety.
Required Skills
- Valid US driver's license (Class C equivalent) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Proven ability to operate a commercial van safely and efficiently in varying traffic and weather conditions.
- Strong navigational skills and proficiency with GPS devices and mapping applications.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities to meet tight delivery schedules.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted, with proper lifting techniques.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate documentation and record-keeping.
- Strong commitment to safety, customer service, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a collaborative team member.
Preferred Qualifications
