Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including but not limited to hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and microbiology sample preparation, following established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare and process patient specimens (blood, urine, other body fluids) for analysis with meticulous attention to detail and proper labeling.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and accurate test results.
- Conduct quality control procedures, documenting results and identifying any deviations to ensure test reliability.
- Accurately record and report test results using laboratory information systems (LIS) while adhering to strict confidentiality guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels of reagents and supplies, assisting with ordering and stocking as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and quality assurance programs.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science field is preferred.
- Strong foundational knowledge of basic laboratory principles and safety procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks and documenting results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
