You will begin your day by performing thorough pre-trip inspections of your assigned company van, meticulously loading and organizing packages, and planning the most efficient delivery sequence. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company van safely and efficiently on assigned daily routes.
- Load, unload, and organize packages and goods, ensuring secure transit.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Navigate routes using GPS and company-provided technology, optimizing for efficiency and timeliness.
- Deliver packages to customers, obtaining signatures and completing necessary documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing inquiries professionally.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, both physical and digital.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as sorting, scanning, and staging packages when required.
Required Skills
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3-5 years)
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs
- Strong navigation and geographical knowledge of San Antonio and surrounding areas
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with GPS devices and handheld scanning equipment
- Punctual and reliable attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of previous professional driving or delivery experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience with route optimization software
- Familiarity with various types of delivery documentation (BOLs, manifests, etc.)
