Kakao is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Information Security Analyst to join our robust security team in Seoul. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding Kakao’s vast ecosystem of platforms, products, and user data against evolving cyber threats. As an Information Security Analyst, you will be at the forefront of identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks across our infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments. You will work collaboratively with various engineering, product, and operations teams to embed security best practices throughout the entire software development lifecycle and operational processes. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR) for security events, alerts, and anomalies.
- Perform initial triage, investigation, and analysis of security incidents, escalating as necessary.
- Participate in security incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
- Conduct vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, analyzing results and working with development teams on remediation.
- Administer and maintain various security tools and technologies.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Assist in security awareness training programs for employees.
- Perform security assessments of new applications, infrastructure, and third-party services.
- Support compliance initiatives and audit activities related to information security.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in information security, cybersecurity analysis, or incident response.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS) and network security concepts (firewalls, WAFs, VPNs).
- Experience with security monitoring tools (SIEM, EDR) and incident response methodologies.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis.
- Familiarity with operating systems security (Linux, Windows) and cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Information Security or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GSEC.
- Experience with advanced persistent threats (APTs) and sophisticated attack techniques.
- Familiarity with Korean and international security regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g., PII, GDPR, ISMS).
- Experience in secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC).
- Fluency in Korean is a plus but not strictly required.
