Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grant Writing Specialist to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. This pivotal role is essential in securing the financial resources required to fuel our impactful youth development and social responsibility programs across the UAE. As a Grant Writing Specialist, you will be instrumental in identifying, developing, and submitting compelling grant proposals to local and international foundations, corporate sponsors, and government entities. You will work closely with program managers and senior leadership to understand our initiatives deeply, translating complex project details into persuasive narratives that resonate with potential funders.
Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere writing; you will conduct in-depth research to identify new funding opportunities, manage the full grant lifecycle from initial prospecting to proposal submission and post-award reporting, and cultivate strong relationships with funding partners. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify new grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies, both locally and internationally.
- Develop and write compelling, clear, and concise grant proposals, applications, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents that align with funder priorities and our strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with program teams to gather necessary information, data, and stories to accurately represent program needs, impact, and desired outcomes.
- Manage the grant submission process, ensuring all deadlines are met and proposals are submitted accurately and on time.
- Maintain a grant calendar and tracking system for all proposals, reports, and communication with funders.
- Prepare high-quality progress reports, stewardship reports, and final reports for all awarded grants, demonstrating accountability and impact.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective funders, acting as a key liaison.
- Stay informed about current trends in philanthropy, grant funding, and youth development to inform strategy.
- Assist in developing and refining the organization’s fundraising strategy and communication materials.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in grant writing, including successful grant awards from diverse funding sources.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to craft persuasive and clear narratives.
- Strong research skills to identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) or grant management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Deep understanding of the non-profit sector and fundraising principles.
