Job Description

As an Energy Efficiency Consultant at ENGIE, you will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable change and optimizing energy consumption for our diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors. You will be instrumental in identifying, analyzing, and implementing energy-saving solutions that not only reduce operational costs but also significantly lower carbon footprints. This position involves a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong client-facing communication. You will work within a dynamic team, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and innovative methodologies to deliver tangible value. From conducting detailed energy audits to developing comprehensive energy management strategies and overseeing their implementation, your work will directly contribute to ENGIE’s mission of accelerating the energy transition. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive energy audits for commercial, industrial, and public sector clients to identify energy-saving opportunities.
  • Analyze energy consumption data, utility bills, and building systems to develop detailed recommendations for efficiency improvements.
  • Design and propose innovative energy efficiency solutions, including HVAC optimization, lighting upgrades, building envelope improvements, and renewable energy integration.
  • Develop detailed financial analyses, cost-benefit analyses, and return on investment (ROI) calculations for proposed projects.
  • Prepare compelling technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients, clearly articulating findings and recommended solutions.
  • Manage energy efficiency projects from conception through to implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest energy technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in France and the EU.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on energy management best practices, sustainability strategies, and relevant grants/incentives.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience (48 months) in energy efficiency consulting, energy management, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience conducting energy audits and implementing energy conservation measures in various building types.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, building automation systems, lighting technologies, and industrial processes.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., eQUEST, EnergyPlus, TRNSYS) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a client-facing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Energy Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), or similar certifications.
  • Familiarity with French and European energy regulations, standards, and incentive programs (e.g., CEE – Certificats d'Économies d'Énergie).
  • Experience with renewable energy integration (solar PV, heat pumps) and smart building technologies.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or proven project leadership experience.
