Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual health assessments, including history taking, physical exams (as appropriate for telehealth), and mental status evaluations.
- Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic illnesses within the scope of practice, utilizing evidence-based guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and referrals to specialists when necessary.
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, health promotion, and self-management strategies to empower patients in their healthcare journey.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, imaging) and integrate findings into patient care decisions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, specialists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to telehealth practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New Mexico (NM).
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., FNP, AGNP, ANP).
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority in New Mexico.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate sound clinical judgment, and manage complex cases effectively.
- Strong technical proficiency and comfort with virtual communication tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a telehealth or remote patient care setting.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) to serve a diverse patient population.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Additional certifications in specialty areas relevant to primary care or urgent care.
- Familiarity with value-based care models and population health management.
