Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client assessments to evaluate mental health needs, formulate diagnoses, and develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to clients using various therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing).
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records and progress notes in compliance with all ethical, legal, and agency standards.
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary teams to review client progress, adjust treatment strategies, and ensure integrated care.
- Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, symptom management, coping mechanisms, and available community resources.
- Actively participate in regular clinical supervision, case consultations, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance skills.
- Adhere strictly to all professional ethical guidelines and state/federal regulations pertaining to mental health practice and licensure requirements.
- Engage in self-care practices and seek appropriate support to maintain personal and professional well-being and prevent burnout.
Required Skills
- Strong foundational knowledge of counseling theories, psychopathology, and various therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client interaction, documentation, and team collaboration.
- Demonstrated empathy, active listening, cultural competence, and strong interpersonal abilities to build rapport with diverse clients.
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and experience or willingness to learn electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities for efficient caseload management and record-keeping.
- Ability to work effectively both independently in a remote setting and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
