Are you passionate about making a tangible impact on climate change and driving sustainable solutions? Accenture Philippines is looking for a dedicated and analytical Climate Change Analyst to join our growing Sustainability practice. In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping our clients understand, measure, and mitigate their environmental impact, particularly concerning climate change risks and opportunities. You will work on diverse projects, analyzing complex data, developing climate strategies, and supporting the implementation of sustainable practices across various industries. This position requires a blend of scientific understanding, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent communication skills to translate technical insights into actionable business recommendations. You will contribute to thought leadership, client engagements, and the development of innovative solutions that promote a greener, more resilient future. This is a hybrid role, combining the flexibility of remote work with in-office collaboration and client site visits as needed, fostering a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of climate change science, policy, regulations (e.g., carbon pricing, emissions targets), and market trends.
- Collect, process, and interpret environmental data, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation.
- Develop and apply quantitative models to assess climate risks, opportunities, and the financial implications for businesses.
- Assist in the preparation of climate-related disclosures and reports (e.g., TCFD, CDP, ESG reports) for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support the development of corporate climate strategies, including decarbonization pathways, renewable energy transitions, and adaptation plans.
- Provide analytical support for client engagements, presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of climate initiatives and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Accenture to integrate climate change considerations into broader business strategies.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, methodologies, and best practices in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Climate Science, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental data analysis, GHG accounting, or climate risk assessment.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R) and presentation software (PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of global climate change frameworks, policies (e.g., Paris Agreement), and reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific or technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, client-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Management, Climate Science, Sustainable Development).
- Experience with environmental management systems (EMS) or sustainability software platforms.
- Familiarity with life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies.
- Previous experience in a consulting environment or large corporate sustainability department.
- Certifications in GHG accounting, TCFD, or related sustainability standards.
- Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) for climate impact mapping and analysis.
