Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy goods vehicles (HGV Class 1 / CE) for the transportation of various goods.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and reporting any defects.
- Secure loads correctly to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
- Adhere strictly to all road transport regulations, including working time directives and speed limits.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods to various destinations across the UK.
- Comply with company health and safety procedures and policies at all times.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously to clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence
- Current Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points
- Good understanding of EU driving hours regulations and WTD
- Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
- Strong commitment to road safety and compliance
- Physical fitness to perform duties, including loading/unloading assistance
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional HGV driving experience
- Experience with various types of trailers (e.g., curtainsiders, refrigerated, flatbeds)
- Knowledge of UK road networks and geographical areas
- ADR certification (beneficial but not essential)
- Forklift licence (beneficial)
