Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and prepare patient samples (e.g., blood, urine, tissue) for laboratory analysis following established protocols.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures under direct supervision, adhering strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including daily calibration and quality control checks, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Accurately document all test results, observations, and quality control data in the laboratory information system (LIS).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA).
- Assist senior laboratory staff with complex analyses and research projects as needed.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including stocking supplies and identifying needs for replenishment.
- Participate in ongoing training and continuing education programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding sample status, test results, and any issues encountered.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
