Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data governance policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with Orange's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR).
- Define and enforce data quality rules and metrics, actively monitor data quality across key systems, and drive initiatives for data cleansing and enrichment.
- Collaborate closely with data stewards, business owners, IT teams, and legal counsel to identify critical data elements, define clear data ownership, and establish accountability for data assets.
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance of enterprise data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data lineage documentation to ensure clarity and consistency of data definitions.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of data governance practices, identify gaps, and recommend practical improvements to enhance data integrity and compliance across the organization.
- Provide targeted training and ongoing support to employees on data governance principles, policies, and best practices to foster a data-aware and responsible culture.
- Participate in data-related projects, offering expertise on data governance impact assessments, data classification, and privacy by design principles from inception.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving regulatory landscapes related to data governance, data privacy, and overall data management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with data governance frameworks and methodologies (e.g., DAMA-DMBOk)
- Strong understanding of data quality management principles, processes, and tools
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, profiling, and validation
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and industry compliance standards
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
- Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Data Governance Professional – CDGP, Certified Information Management Professional – CIMP)
- Experience with specific data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Data Governance and Catalog, Ataccama, Talend)
- Project management experience in data-related initiatives or large-scale data transformations
