Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated, meticulous, and experienced Global Trade Analyst to become a vital member of our dynamic team based in Maputo, Mozambique. This pivotal role will be instrumental in safeguarding Vale Moçambique’s adherence to an intricate web of international trade regulations, various national and regional customs laws, and our own stringent internal corporate policies across the full spectrum of our export and import activities. The Global Trade Analyst will be primarily responsible for the rigorous analysis of complex trade data, the precise management of crucial documentation, the proactive identification of potential compliance and logistical risks, and the strategic formulation of solutions aimed at optimizing our global supply chain processes for maximum efficiency and security. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze international trade regulations, customs laws, and trade agreements relevant to Vale Moçambique's operations.
- Ensure accurate classification, valuation, and origin determination of imported and exported goods according to national and international standards.
- Prepare, review, and maintain all necessary customs documentation for import and export declarations, licenses, and permits.
- Conduct regular audits of trade compliance processes and documentation to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to policies.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Logistics, Procurement, Sales, Legal) and external partners (customs brokers, freight forwarders) to facilitate smooth trade operations.
- Identify and mitigate potential trade compliance risks, including sanctions, embargoes, and anti-dumping measures.
- Provide expert guidance and training to internal teams on trade compliance matters and best practices.
- Analyze trade data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
- Respond to inquiries from customs authorities and assist in resolving customs-related issues.
- Stay updated on changes in global trade policies and communicate their potential impact on the company.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in international trade compliance, customs regulations, or global logistics.
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, HS classification, customs valuation, and rules of origin.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly Microsoft Excel; experience with trade management software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Preferred Qualifications
