Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Cyber Forensics Investigator to join our robust Information Security team. In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of protecting UnionBank’s digital assets by conducting in-depth forensic investigations into cyber incidents, data breaches, and other security violations. You will be responsible for identifying, collecting, preserving, and analyzing digital evidence in a forensically sound manner. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and a deep understanding of cyberattack methodologies and investigative techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive digital forensic investigations into security incidents, including malware analysis, network intrusions, data exfiltration, and unauthorized access.
- Identify, collect, and preserve digital evidence from various sources such as endpoints, network devices, servers, and cloud environments, ensuring chain of custody.
- Perform in-depth analysis of forensic artifacts to reconstruct incident timelines, identify root causes, and determine the scope and impact of breaches.
- Utilize forensic tools and techniques to extract, decrypt, and analyze data from compromised systems.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations summarizing investigation findings, evidence collected, and recommended remediation actions for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with incident response teams, legal counsel, and law enforcement agencies as required, providing expert testimony or support during legal proceedings.
- Develop and maintain forensic investigation processes, procedures, and documentation in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and digital forensic methodologies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the bank's security posture by identifying vulnerabilities and recommending preventative measures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in digital forensics, incident response, or information security investigations.
- Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), network protocols, and cloud environments.
- Proficiency with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Autopsy, Volatility, Wireshark, Splunk, etc.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance (BSP regulations).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong ethical conduct and integrity in handling sensitive information and evidence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience in the financial services industry or other highly regulated environments.
