Career.supersecrets is actively recruiting on behalf of a prestigious hotel in Agbowa, Ikorodu, seeking a dedicated and efficient Laundry Supervisor. This critical role involves overseeing the daily operations of the hotel’s laundry department, ensuring the highest quality of cleanliness, hygiene, and efficiency for both guest room linens and food and beverage textiles.
The Laundry Supervisor will be responsible for the entire laundry process, from collection and sorting to washing, drying, pressing, folding, and distribution. You will lead a small team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure all tasks are completed to the hotel’s exacting standards and within established timelines. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of various fabric care requirements, and proficiency in operating commercial laundry equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the hotel laundry department, including collection, sorting, washing, drying, pressing, folding, and distribution of linens and uniforms.
- Ensure all laundry items, including guest room linens and food & beverage textiles, meet the hotel's stringent quality, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.
- Train, mentor, and motivate laundry staff, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and productivity targets.
- Conduct regular inspections of processed laundry to maintain high-quality results and address any issues promptly.
- Manage laundry inventory, including ordering supplies (detergents, chemicals, linens) and maintaining accurate stock records.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of all laundry equipment, scheduling preventative maintenance and reporting malfunctions.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the laundry department to ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor utility consumption (water, electricity) and actively seek ways to optimize energy efficiency and reduce waste.
- Handle guest and internal department inquiries or requests regarding laundry services.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on laundry operations, productivity, and inventory.
- Assist in budgeting and cost control for the laundry department.
