Job Description

Are you a passionate advocate for sustainability with a talent for coordination and project management? Siemens AG is seeking a dedicated and proactive Sustainability Program Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Munich. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to our ambitious sustainability goals and drive impactful initiatives across various business units.

In this role, you will be instrumental in coordinating and supporting the implementation of our corporate sustainability programs, focusing on areas such as decarbonization, circular economy, social impact, and responsible supply chains. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across different departments, including R&D, operations, procurement, and communications, to ensure alignment and progress towards our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) targets. Your responsibilities will span from supporting the development of sustainability strategies to tracking performance metrics, preparing reports, and facilitating communication channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of various corporate sustainability programs and initiatives.
  • Monitor and track key sustainability performance indicators (KPIs) and progress against defined targets.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external sustainability reports, presentations, and communications.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across different departments to gather data, ensure alignment, and foster sustainability awareness.
  • Research and analyze best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory developments in sustainability.
  • Support the planning and execution of internal workshops, training sessions, and engagement activities related to sustainability.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of sustainability processes and data management systems.
  • Manage documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping for all program activities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, capture action items, and follow up on deliverables.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sustainability program coordination, project management, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of ESG principles, sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB), and relevant regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented and multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a sustainability-related discipline.
  • Experience with sustainability software platforms or data management systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial sectors and their specific sustainability challenges.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or sustainability-specific certifications.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and communication strategies.
