Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement industrial automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, HMI, and DCS for various projects.
- Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric) and develop SCADA/HMI applications (e.g., WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware).
- Conduct site surveys, assess existing systems, and recommend improvements for automation and control.
- Perform system integration, testing, commissioning, and startup activities at project sites.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to automation hardware and software.
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including functional design specifications (FDS), logic diagrams, I/O lists, and user manuals.
- Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams.
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices in industrial automation.
- Ensure all automation solutions comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text) with major platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000).
- Experience in SCADA/HMI system development and configuration.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
- Solid knowledge of control systems architecture, instrumentation, and field devices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Certifications from major automation vendors (e.g., Siemens Certified Professional, Rockwell Automation Certificate).
- Experience with distributed control systems (DCS).
- Prior experience in Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Utilities, or Building Management Systems (BMS) sectors.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
- Project management experience, particularly in leading automation projects from conception to completion.
