Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security appliances.
- Monitor network security systems for anomalies, alerts, and incidents, initiating timely responses and investigations.
- Perform regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential weaknesses.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal IT, development, and project teams to integrate security into network design and operational processes.
- Provide expert guidance and support on network security issues, including incident response, troubleshooting, and recovery.
- Stay abreast of emerging security threats, technologies, and trends to proactively enhance our security posture.
- Document network security configurations, processes, and incident reports thoroughly and accurately.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new security technologies and solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with network security technologies such as firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet), VPNs, SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), and IDS/IPS.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and network segmentation.
- Proficiency in administering and securing various operating systems (Linux, Windows Server).
- Experience with security best practices for cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, GIAC, CEH.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
- Familiarity with SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) platforms.
- Previous experience in a large-scale, enterprise, or critical infrastructure environment.
