Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Laundry Supervisor to lead the laundry operations for a reputable hotel client in Surulere, Lagos. This vital role ensures that all linen, uniforms, and guest laundry are processed efficiently, to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation, directly contributing to guest satisfaction and the overall success of the hotel’s housekeeping department. As a Laundry Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a dedicated team, managing daily laundry tasks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various fabric types, laundry chemicals, and industrial laundry machinery. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and train laundry staff in all aspects of washing, drying, folding, ironing, and delivery of linen and uniforms.
- Ensure all laundry operations adhere to established quality standards, hygiene protocols, and safety regulations.
- Operate and maintain industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and pressing machines, performing minor troubleshooting and coordinating major repairs.
- Manage inventory of linens, uniforms, and laundry supplies, placing orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Develop and implement efficient laundry schedules to meet the demands of the hotel, ensuring timely processing and delivery.
- Inspect all processed items for cleanliness, damage, and proper presentation before distribution.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry production, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance.
- Handle guest laundry services, ensuring prompt and careful handling of personal items.
- Monitor budget and control costs related to laundry operations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or operational issues to the Housekeeping Manager.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in laundry operations, preferably within a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent knowledge of different fabric types, laundry detergents, and stain removal techniques.
- Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment operation and basic maintenance.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations in a commercial laundry setting.
Preferred Qualifications
