Are you a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with a passion for optimizing complex supply chains? Sasol is seeking a dynamic Procurement and Supply Chain Analyst to join our team in Maputo, Mozambique. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our operational efficiency, driving cost savings, and ensuring the seamless flow of materials and services critical to our energy production and chemical manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of procurement data, including spend, supplier performance, and market trends, to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and maintain supply chain metrics, reports, and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress against strategic goals.
- Support strategic sourcing activities by researching potential suppliers, preparing tender documents, and assisting in contract negotiation processes.
- Collaborate with various departments (e.g., operations, finance, engineering) to understand material and service requirements and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.
- Analyze inventory levels and demand forecasts to optimize stock holding and minimize obsolescence, while ensuring material availability.
- Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply for critical operations.
- Participate in supplier relationship management activities, evaluating supplier performance and fostering strong partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations, company policies, and ethical sourcing guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP MM, Ariba, Oracle SCM).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data visualization).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
- Solid understanding of procurement and supply chain principles and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Strong ethical conduct and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent.
- Experience working in the oil & gas, mining, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in Portuguese (written and spoken) is highly advantageous, given the local context.
- Familiarity with Mozambican business regulations and local content requirements.
