Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Transport goods efficiently and on schedule, ensuring cargo securement and integrity throughout the journey.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and trailers, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics, and customers regarding delivery status, delays, and potential issues.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and customer service standards.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining legal driving hours.
- Represent Career.supersecrets professionally at all times.
- Secure and protect freight during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable OTR (Over-The-Road) driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD compliance
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety checks
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proficiency in using GPS and route planning tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Experience with various types of freight and trailers (dry van, reefer, flatbed)
- Familiarity with cross-country routes and major interstates
