Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic logistics plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Manage the end-to-end supply chain, including inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing, inventory control, and transportation.
- Oversee and optimise daily logistics activities, ensuring timely delivery and operational excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals, fostering a high-performance work environment.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers to secure favourable terms.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international shipping regulations, safety standards, and customs procedures.
- Implement and utilise logistics software and technology to enhance visibility and control over the supply chain.
- Manage inventory levels to minimise holding costs while meeting customer demand.
- Prepare and manage logistics budgets, forecasting expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Resolve logistics-related issues efficiently, including discrepancies, delays, and damages.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, procurement, and production, to align logistics strategies with business goals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or similar senior role (minimum 4 years).
- Demonstrable knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
