Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vans safely and efficiently to deliver goods to specified locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles, documenting any issues.
- Load and unload packages accurately and securely, ensuring proper handling of items.
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs.
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery and pickup interactions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status or delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Handle cash or process payments as required for certain deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned company vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Maryland Driver's License (Class C or equivalent)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years
- Proven ability to operate a cargo van safely and efficiently
- Strong navigation and route optimization skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with GPS devices and smartphone applications for delivery tracking
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
