Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Tutor Assistant for our afterschool program in Nyaruguru, Southern Province. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead tutors in delivering engaging and effective lessons across various subjects, primarily focused on homework completion and foundational skills.
- Provide one-on-one and small group academic support to students, addressing their specific learning needs and challenges.
- Help maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment, ensuring all students feel comfortable and motivated.
- Organize and facilitate educational activities, games, and creative projects that complement classroom learning.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, communicating observations and concerns to lead tutors and program coordinators.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as taking attendance, preparing materials, and maintaining an organized workspace.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor for students, encouraging their social and emotional development.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for working with children and youth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Solid foundational knowledge in core academic subjects (e.g., Math, Science, English).

Preferred Qualifications

- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English.
- Basic understanding of child development principles.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
