Job Description

We are seeking a highly enthusiastic and dedicated Entry-Level Primary School Librarian to join a vibrant educational institution in Thika, Kenya. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize the school's library collection, including books, periodicals, and digital resources, ensuring easy accessibility for students and staff.
  • Curate and select new library materials that are age-appropriate, diverse, and align with the school's curriculum and educational goals.
  • Assist students and teachers in locating and utilizing library resources effectively for research, projects, and leisure reading.
  • Develop and implement engaging library programs, such as story time sessions, book clubs, reading challenges, and literary events.
  • Provide guidance and support to primary school students in developing information literacy skills and a lifelong love for reading.
  • Maintain the library's cataloging system, ensuring accurate records of all materials and managing overdue items.
  • Create a welcoming, stimulating, and inclusive environment within the library that encourages exploration and learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom instruction and support curriculum development.
  • Oversee the proper care and maintenance of library materials, including repairs and shelving.
  • Stay updated on current trends in children's literature and library science.

Required Skills
