Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles for the transportation of goods, packages, and personnel across Abuja and environs.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries and pickups, using GPS and traffic updates.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the company vehicle.
- Accurately complete delivery manifests, logbooks, and other necessary documentation.
- Assist with loading and unloading of items, ensuring goods are securely transported.
- Maintain professional and courteous interactions with clients, colleagues, and the public.
- Handle packages with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics coordinator regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E minimum)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja city roads, routes, and traffic patterns
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Good verbal communication skills
- Punctuality and strong time management abilities
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 25 kg
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking oil, water, tire pressure)
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent
- Professional driving certification or defensive driving course completion
- Prior experience in logistics, courier, or delivery services
- Familiarity with using navigation applications (e.g., Google Maps, Apple Maps)
- Ability to speak multiple local languages
