Career.supersecrets is actively seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Bar Attendant to join the team at a sophisticated hotel lounge located in the heart of Agbowa, Ikorodu. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a diverse range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following established recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, ingredients, and equipment.
- Interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner, taking orders and providing informed recommendations.
- Process guest payments accurately using POS systems and handle cash responsibily, adhering to company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and report shortages to management to ensure continuous service.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations, including responsible alcohol service.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service, checking IDs rigorously and refusing service to intoxicated patrons when necessary.
- Assist with general lounge upkeep, including cleaning tables and seating, and collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Handle minor guest complaints or feedback with professionalism and escalate to management as appropriate.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bar Attendant, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, or upscale lounge environment.
- Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes, spirits, wines, and beers.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours.
- Proficiency in cash handling and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Acute attention to detail regarding beverage preparation, garnishing, and presentation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required.
- Valid food handler's permit (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in mixology or professional bartending training.
- Familiarity with local Nigerian beverages, ingredients, and culinary traditions.
- Fluency in additional local languages (e.g., Yoruba) is a significant advantage.
