Job Description
Career.supersecrets is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Warehouse Inventory Guard for a full-time night shift position in Zaria, Kaduna. This critical role involves maintaining the security and integrity of our client’s valuable warehouse inventory and premises during non-operational hours. You will be the frontline protector against theft, damage, and unauthorized access, ensuring that all assets are accounted for and secure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and the ability to act swiftly and decisively in emergency situations. This is an opportunity to contribute to the efficient and secure functioning of a vital supply chain, working independently while being a key part of a broader security framework. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the warehouse premises regularly during the night shift, inspecting doors, windows, gates, and other access points to ensure they are secure.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to any suspicious activities or breaches.
- Conduct thorough checks of incoming and outgoing goods during the night shift, verifying inventory against manifests or digital records to prevent discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate logs of all activities, incidents, and patrols conducted during the shift.
- Report any security breaches, unusual occurrences, or system malfunctions immediately to the appropriate supervisors or law enforcement.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures strictly, including visitor access control and employee checks.
- Respond to fire alarms, power outages, and other emergencies, following established protocols to ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
- Collaborate with day shift security personnel to ensure a seamless handover of duties and information.
- Operate and maintain security equipment such as access control systems, metal detectors, and communication devices.
- Assist in emergency evacuation procedures and provide first aid when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high vigilance during night shifts.
- Excellent observation and critical thinking skills.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures and protocols.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Strong sense of integrity and reliability.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
- Ability to operate basic security equipment (CCTV, alarm systems).
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent education.
- Previous training or certification in security management or guard duties.
- Experience with inventory management systems or record-keeping.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Residency in Zaria or immediate surrounding areas.
