Job Description
As a Senior Mobile App Developer specializing in Android and/or iOS platforms, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining Chime’s cutting-edge mobile applications. You will be instrumental in creating seamless, intuitive, and secure financial experiences for our rapidly growing member base. This role requires a deep understanding of mobile architecture, strong coding skills, and a passion for crafting high-quality, performant, and delightful user interfaces. You’ll work within a dynamic, cross-functional team, collaborating closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to translate complex financial concepts into user-friendly mobile features. Your responsibilities will span the entire application lifecycle, from initial concept and design to deployment and post-launch support. Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and maintain high-quality, high-performance mobile applications for Android and/or iOS platforms.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and backend engineering teams to define and implement new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices and design patterns.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to security standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency and product quality.
- Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability while ensuring robust security.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of mobile technology at Chime.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development (Android with Kotlin/Java or iOS with Swift/Objective-C).
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, VIPER, etc.) and software development principles.
- Proficiency with mobile SDKs, RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and integrating backend services.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
- Demonstrable experience shipping and maintaining complex mobile applications.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the fintech industry or with financial services applications.
- Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) is a plus.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for mobile.
- Knowledge of mobile security best practices and data encryption.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
