Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, bricklayers, plumbers, electricians) with various tasks.
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, loading and unloading materials, and setting up equipment.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth using hand tools and sometimes operating basic machinery under supervision.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and organized site.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding and barricades under guidance.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and site-specific procedures.
- Carry out general laboring duties as directed by the site supervisor or foreman.
- Support material handling, ensuring correct materials are delivered to work points.
- Learn and develop new construction skills through on-the-job training.
