Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus on designated routes, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and report any defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate student manifests and ensure all students are accounted for during boarding and disembarking.
- Manage student behaviour on the bus, fostering a respectful, disciplined, and positive environment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, school staff, and the Career.supersecrets team.
- Adhere strictly to assigned schedules and routes, adjusting for unforeseen circumstances safely and efficiently.
- Manage emergency situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols for accidents, breakdowns, or medical incidents.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the school bus.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Code 10 (or equivalent) driver's license with a PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) for Passengers.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations, and defensive driving techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and parents.
- Patience, reliability, and punctuality.
- High level of responsibility and a strong commitment to safety and child welfare.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
