Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced drivers with loading and unloading items safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS and maps, learning optimal paths and potential obstacles.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle interior and exterior.
- Verify accuracy of delivery manifests, invoices, and other relevant documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries or interactions at various locations.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to deliveries, such as obtaining signatures and logging delivery times.
Required Skills
- Valid Code B (or equivalent) South African driver's license.
- Clean driving record.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 25kg).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctual and dependable.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Basic numeracy and literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Grade 12).
- Familiarity with the Vredenburg and surrounding Western Cape areas.
