Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company-provided vehicle safely and efficiently on assigned routes.
- Deliver packages to customers accurately and on schedule, adhering to delivery instructions.
- Verify the contents of shipments against delivery manifests.
- Load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company safety protocols.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance of the company vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route status or delivery challenges.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and optimize route efficiency.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (minimal to no infractions)
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift
- Strong time management and organizational skills to meet delivery schedules
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using GPS and navigation tools for route optimization
- Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in a customer service role
- Familiarity with the Houston metropolitan area and surrounding routes
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance checks
